Combustion Chamber CFD Simulation with Combusting Particle, Ansys Fluent Training
In this project, a combustion chamber with combusting particles has been simulated, and the simulation results have been investigated using ANSYS Fluent software. We perform this CFD project and investigate it by CFD analysis.
The 3-D geometry of the present model is carried out using SpaceClaim software. The meshing of this present model has been generated by Ansys Meshing software.
The mesh grid is Structured, and the total cell number is 125000. Also, due to the nature of the present problem, the transient solver has been enabled.
Combustion Chamber Methodology
Given the increasing industrial use of coal consumption and the importance of finding clean energy coal technology development, modeling its combustion characteristics is very important.
In this project, a combustion chamber is simulated using Ansys Fluent software. We used two-way DPM for particles, and anthracite as an injection material was used in this simulation.
Anthracite is the best type of coal with the highest calorific value. Also, the species transport model and the volumetric sub-model are enabled to model the combustion process.
Particles are injected into the domain with a velocity of 1m/s and a temperature of 308K for 1 second. Moreover, the standard k-epsilon model and energy equation are used to solve the turbulent fluid equations and calculate temperature change within the domain.
Combustion Chamber Conclusion
At the end of the solution process, two- and three-dimensional contours temperature and particle tracks are obtained.
According to the results, it is observed that good combustion took place in the chamber, and the average temperature of the chamber reached 3765.2961k.
