Description (Wave Equation Acoustic Model)
In this project, the flow around a cylinder is simulated to investigate its acoustic condition using the Wave Equation model.
The two-dimensional geometry is designed in ANSYS Design Modeler software. Also, the structured grid is carried out using ANSYS Meshing meshing. As a result, 23264 elements were generated.
This product is the 3rd episode of the Acoustic Model Training Course.
Methodology of Wave Equation Acoustic Model CFD Simulation
The simulation is Transient(unsteady) to capture fluid behavior over time. We have used the Pressure-based solver type due to the incompressibility of the working fluid. Also, we have employed the Wave equation model.
Conclusion
At the end of the wave equation acoustic model simulation, the sound pressure level recorded by the defined receivers is extracted. We have defined the setup step to export the acoustic source data in ASD format. As the diagram shows, up to 100,000 frequencies have been captured in this simulation, and the maximum sound pressure level is observed at frequencies below 10,000.
