What This Means for Your Simulations

128 Cores means this server can perform 128 calculations simultaneously.

Why this matters: CFD simulations divide your fluid domain into millions of cells. Each core can solve equations for different cells at the same time - more cores = dramatically faster solutions. A simulation that takes 24 hours on a 4-core laptop could finish in 3-4 hours with 128 cores.

Perfect for: Large-scale simulations with 10+ million cells, transient analyses, turbulence modeling, multi-phase flows, and running multiple design studies in parallel.

The 3.1 GHz clock speed determines how fast each core performs individual calculations - higher means faster processing for mesh generation, solving, and post-processing.

Memory (RAM)

1 TB
Type
DDR5

What This Means

1 TB is your simulation's "working space" - it holds all active data: mesh geometry, fluid properties, boundary conditions, and results during solving.

DDR5 provides high-bandwidth data access essential for CFD solvers that read and update millions of cell values thousands of times during iterations. This capacity handles large transient simulations, multi-phase flows, and parametric studies - far exceeding typical 16-32GB workstations limited to 2-3 million cells. Insufficient RAM forces simulations to fail.

High-bandwidth memory for lightning-fast data access

Storage

2 x 1 GB
Type
NVMe SSD

What This Means

This server has 2 storage drives installed. Each drive is 1 GB, giving you a total storage capacity of 2 GB.

NVMe SSD storage provides extremely fast read/write speeds for your simulation files and results. NVMe is the fastest storage technology available - up to 5-10x faster than traditional SSDs for reading/writing large result files. Multiple drives provide redundancy and can be configured for increased performance or data protection.

Ultra-fast storage for rapid I/O operations

Network Speed

1 Gbit/s

Fast file transfers and remote access. Upload meshes and download results quickly from anywhere.

Monthly Traffic

Unlimited

Generous bandwidth allowance for uploading/downloading large simulation files without limits or overage fees.

Operating System

About This Server

SC44 — 128-Core, 1 TB CFD HPC Node: The Ultimate ANSYS Fluent Powerhouse

The SC44 node is the most powerful machine in our entire lineup — by a wide margin. A single AMD EPYC 9754 (Zen 4c, 4th-generation EPYC) brings 128 cores and 256 threads of modern compute, paired with a massive 1 TB of RAM and fast NVMe SSD storage. It is built to do what no other node can: load the largest meshes in ANSYS Fluent and solve them at the highest speed, on the most modern architecture we offer — with no trade-off between cores and memory.

If you have a simulation that is too big and too slow for anything else, this is the node for it.

Specifications

Component

Specification

CPU

AMD EPYC™ 9754 — 128 cores / 256 threads, 2.25 GHz base, up to 3.1 GHz boost (sustained across all cores), 256 MB L3 cache, AVX-512 (Zen 4c "Bergamo," 4th-gen EPYC 9004)

Memory

1 TB (1024 GB) RAM

Storage

2 × 1 TB NVMe SSD — ~2 TB total

SC44 leads the range on every dimension at once: the highest core count (128 / 256 threads) — nearly three times our 44-core Xeon flagship — a huge 256 MB cache, a full 1 TB of RAM, the newest architecture (Zen 4c with AVX-512, DDR5, PCIe Gen 5), and fast NVMe storage. Notably, all 128 cores sustain their 3.1 GHz boost together, so a full-machine CFD solve runs every core at speed.

What's included with SC44

Every SC44 rental comes with extras to help you get the most from it:

  • A comprehensive CFD course, free — a full training course to sharpen your simulation skills, included at no extra cost.

  • One month of Claude AI Premium — AI assistance to support your engineering, scripting, and problem-solving.

  • One hour of free CFD consultation — direct time with our CFD engineers to help set up, troubleshoot, or optimize your case.

These come standard with the node — practical support alongside the compute.

What this node is built for

SC44 is the no-compromise tier — built for the largest, most demanding CFD work where you need both maximum capacity and maximum speed:

  • The largest meshes, solved fast — with 1 TB of RAM and 128 modern cores, very large meshes both fit and solve quickly.

  • Heavy multiphase and combustion — VOF, Eulerian, particle models, detailed chemistry and species transport at full scale.

  • Large transient simulations — many time steps across many cores, with fast NVMe storage for the data output.

  • Conjugate heat transfer and large coupled domains — full-scale thermal and fluid-solid models.

  • Large parameter studies and DOEs on a deadline — 128 cores deliver throughput nothing else in the range can match.

  • The most time-critical professional CFD — when the case is huge and the deadline is real.

With 128 cores at a sustained 3.1 GHz and 1 TB of RAM, even very large cases both fit and run, then solve faster than anything else we offer.

Maximum on every axis

In CFD, memory sets the largest mesh you can run — roughly 1 GB of RAM per million cells for a typical steady, single-phase case, more for complex physics — while cores set how fast it solves. Most nodes ask you to choose. SC44 does not: 1 TB of RAM handles meshes in the hundreds of millions of cells, and 128 modern cores solve them at maximum speed, on a newer architecture with AVX-512 acceleration and high memory bandwidth.

  • It is the top of the entire range — more cores, more memory, and a more modern architecture than any other node.

  • Our other 1 TB node pairs that memory with a smaller core count; SC44 pairs 1 TB with 128 cores, for both capacity and speed at once.

Tell us your cell count and physics, and we will confirm SC44 is the right fit — or point you to a more economical tier if your case does not need this much machine.

Fast NVMe storage

The two 1 TB NVMe SSDs (about 2 TB total) deliver very high read/write speeds — far faster than SATA — so loading huge case files, writing large data files, and handling frequent autosaves all happen quickly. On a node running the largest cases, fast storage keeps disk I/O from ever becoming the bottleneck.

How parallel solving works on this node

When you run Fluent in parallel, the solver partitions your mesh across all 128 cores (using algorithms such as METIS), each core solving its share of cells and exchanging boundary data each iteration via MPI. On a single modern CPU, that communication runs over fast on-chip and on-board paths, keeping parallel overhead low — and with very large meshes, 128 cores each carry a substantial share of the work, so the solve scales strongly. The result is the fastest large-case turnaround in the lineup.

Why rent instead of buy

A 128-core EPYC server with 1 TB of ECC RAM and NVMe storage is a very significant purchase that depreciates between projects. Renting matches cost to workload:

Buy hardware

Rent SC44

Upfront cost

Very large capital outlay

Pay only for what you use

Maintenance

Power, cooling, admin on you

Handled for you

Setup

You buy, install, and maintain it

Connect by remote desktop, full control, extras included

Utilization

Idle high-end hardware still costs money

You pay only when you compute

Flexibility

Stuck with one machine

Drop to a smaller tier when a case is lighter

For teams that occasionally need a true HPC-class machine without owning one, SC44 puts flagship compute on demand — and you can step down to a smaller node whenever a case does not need it.

How it works — you're in full control

SC44 is yours to drive directly. You connect to the node over a secure remote desktop connection and run everything yourself, exactly as you would on a local workstation:

  1. Connect via remote desktop — you get full remote access to the SC44 node.

  2. Set up your simulation — load your geometry and case, configure your solver settings, and run ANSYS Fluent with all 128 cores at your command.

  3. Run and monitor in real time — start, pause, adjust, and watch the solution as it progresses, with complete control throughout.

  4. Keep your results — post-process on the node or download your solution and data files whenever you're ready.

You have full authority over the node for the duration of your rental: we provide the hardware and the support, and you run the simulations your way.

Frequently asked questions

What makes SC44 the most powerful node? It leads the range on every axis at once: 128 cores / 256 threads (the highest count we offer), 1 TB of RAM, the newest architecture (Zen 4c with AVX-512, DDR5, PCIe Gen 5), a huge 256 MB cache, and fast NVMe storage. It is the only node that pairs maximum cores with maximum memory.

How large a mesh can it handle? With 1 TB of RAM, count on very large meshes — into the hundreds of millions of cells, depending on the physics (allow about 1 GB of RAM per million cells as a guide, more for complex physics). And unlike a high-memory node with few cores, SC44's 128 cores solve those large meshes quickly. Send us your case for a precise estimate.

Is this overkill for my case? It can be — SC44 is built for the largest, most demanding work. If your case is moderate, a smaller node will serve you for less. Tell us your cell count and physics and we will recommend the right tier honestly.

Is my data kept confidential? Yes. Your geometry, case files, and results stay private to you, treated as strictly confidential — and because you run everything yourself over remote desktop, your work stays under your control throughout.
