SC48
Unmatched Performance
Built for demanding CFD simulations and computational workloads
Processor
The brain of your simulation power
What This Means for Your Simulations
24 Cores means this server can perform
24 calculations simultaneously.
Why this matters: CFD simulations divide your fluid domain into millions of
cells. Each core can solve equations for different cells at the same time - more cores =
dramatically faster solutions. A simulation that takes 24 hours on a 4-core laptop could
finish in 3-4 hours with 24 cores.
Perfect for: Medium simulations (2-10 million cells), steady-state
aerodynamics, heat transfer, and parametric studies with faster iteration times.
The 5.8 GHz clock speed determines how fast each
core performs individual calculations - higher means faster processing for mesh generation,
solving, and post-processing.
Industry-standard CPU benchmark • Higher scores = Faster simulations
Memory (RAM)
What This Means
64 GB is
your simulation's "working space" - it holds all active data: mesh geometry,
fluid properties, boundary conditions, and results during solving.
DDR3 provides high-bandwidth data access
essential for CFD solvers that read and update millions of cell values thousands of times
during iterations. This capacity handles
standard to medium simulations with headroom for mesh refinement - significantly more
than typical workstations with 16-32GB. Adequate RAM prevents solver crashes and slow
virtual memory usage.
High-bandwidth memory for lightning-fast data access
Storage
What This Means
This server has
2 storage drives installed.
Each drive is 1.88 TB, giving you a total
storage capacity of 3.75 TB.
SATA SSD storage provides extremely fast
read/write speeds for your simulation files and results.
SSDs are much faster than traditional hard drives - ideal for loading large mesh files
and saving iteration data quickly.
Multiple drives provide redundancy and can be configured for increased performance or
data protection.
Ultra-fast storage for rapid I/O operations

About This Server
SC48 — High-Clock 24-Core CFD Workstation Node
The SC48 node is built for fast cores. An Intel Core i9-13900 (Raptor Lake) brings 24 cores and 32 threads at very high clock speeds — its performance cores boost to 5.6 GHz, among the fastest in our lineup — paired with 64 GB of RAM. For CFD work where per-core speed and a responsive workflow matter more than raw core count, SC48 is a sharp, modern choice.
It is a high-clock workstation node: very fast cores for moderate cases and the many single-threaded steps of a CFD workflow.
Specifications
Component | Specification |
|---|---|
CPU | Intel® Core™ i9-13900 — 24 cores (8 performance + 16 efficiency) / 32 threads, performance cores up to 5.6 GHz, 36 MB L3 cache (Raptor Lake) |
Memory | 64 GB RAM |
Storage | 2 × 1.88 TB SATA SSD — ~3.76 TB total |
SC48 uses a modern hybrid architecture: 8 high-performance cores that boost to 5.6 GHz do the heavy lifting, while 16 efficiency cores add extra parallel throughput. The result is excellent per-core speed for the work that needs it, plus useful headroom for parallel tasks — with 64 GB of RAM for the cases this node targets.
What's included with SC48
Every SC48 rental comes with extras to help you get the most from it:
A comprehensive CFD course, free — a full training course to sharpen your simulation skills, included at no extra cost.
One month of Claude AI Premium — AI assistance to support your engineering, scripting, and problem-solving.
One hour of free CFD consultation — direct time with our CFD engineers to help set up, troubleshoot, or optimize your case.
These come standard with the node — practical support alongside the compute.
What this node is built for
SC48 plays to per-core speed and a responsive workflow rather than high core count. It suits:
Per-core-bound CFD — moderate cases where fast cores matter more than many cores; the 5.6 GHz performance cores shine here.
Pre- and post-processing — meshing, case setup, and results handling, where single-thread speed keeps the workflow snappy.
Moderate meshes on a deadline — fast cores give a brisk turnaround.
Lighter parallel tasks — the efficiency cores add throughput for jobs that can use it.
A responsive, high-clock workstation — for engineers who want a fast, current-generation machine for moderate CFD.
Where SC48 fits — fast cores vs. many cores
In CFD, core count drives parallel speed-up on large meshes, while per-core performance drives how fast each core works — important for moderate cases and for the many single-threaded steps in a CFD workflow. SC48 leads on clock speed, with its 8 performance cores at up to 5.6 GHz.
A note on the hybrid design: SC48's 8 performance cores are the fast workhorses for CFD solving, while the 16 efficiency cores add throughput but run slower. For solver runs that scale across many uniform cores, our server nodes (or the 16-core Ryzen 9 node, SC49) may suit better; for fast per-core work and a responsive workflow, SC48 excels.
Large, highly parallel meshes → our multi-core server nodes (40, 48, even 128 cores).
Uniform fast cores with a large cache → the Ryzen 9 7950X3D node (SC49).
Fast per-core speed and a responsive workflow at moderate scale → SC48.
Tell us your cell count, physics, and workflow, and we will match you to the right tier.
Storage
The two 1.88 TB SATA SSDs (about 3.76 TB total) provide solid-state read/write for loading case files, writing data, and handling autosaves — responsive and roomy, with ample space for results. (For the very fastest storage, our NVMe-equipped nodes go further; SC48's strength is the high-clock CPU.)
How parallel solving works on this node
When you run Fluent in parallel, the solver partitions your mesh across the cores (using algorithms such as METIS), each core solving its share of cells and exchanging boundary data each iteration via MPI. On a single modern CPU, that communication is fast and overhead is low — and the high-clock performance cores do their share of the work quickly. For moderate cases, that delivers a brisk solve; we can advise on how best to use the performance and efficiency cores for your specific case.
Why rent instead of buy
Buy hardware | Rent SC48 | |
|---|---|---|
Upfront cost | Capital outlay for a workstation | Pay only for what you use |
Maintenance | Power, cooling, admin on you | Handled for you |
Setup | You buy, install, and maintain it | Connect by remote desktop, full control, extras included |
Flexibility | Stuck with one machine | Move to a higher-core node when a job needs it |
For a fast, high-clock CFD workstation with no hardware to own, SC48 gives you very fast cores on demand — with our multi-core server nodes available when a case needs many cores.
How it works — you're in full control
SC48 is yours to drive directly. You connect to the node over a secure remote desktop connection and run everything yourself, exactly as you would on a local workstation:
Connect via remote desktop — you get full remote access to the SC48 node.
Set up your simulation — load your geometry and case, configure your solver settings, and run ANSYS Fluent on the node.
Run and monitor in real time — start, pause, adjust, and watch the solution as it progresses, with complete control throughout.
Keep your results — post-process on the node or download your solution and data files whenever you're ready.
You have full authority over the node for the duration of your rental: we provide the hardware and the support, and you run the simulations your way.
Frequently asked questions
Why choose SC48 over a multi-core server node? SC48 trades core count for very high per-core speed (performance cores up to 5.6 GHz). For moderate cases and the many single-threaded steps in a CFD workflow — meshing, setup, post-processing — that makes it fast and responsive. For large, highly parallel meshes, a multi-core server node is the better fit.
What does the hybrid architecture mean for CFD? The 8 performance cores are the fast workhorses that do the heavy solving, while the 16 efficiency cores add extra throughput for tasks that can use it. We can advise on how to configure a run to get the most from this design.
How large a mesh can it handle? With 64 GB of RAM, plan for moderate cases where the fast cores give a brisk solve. Choose this node for per-core speed, not maximum mesh size. Send us your case and we will advise.
Is my data kept confidential? Yes. Your geometry, case files, and results stay private to you, treated as strictly confidential — and because you run everything yourself over remote desktop, your work stays under your control throughout.
