SC53
Unmatched Performance
Built for demanding CFD simulations and computational workloads
Processor
The brain of your simulation power
What This Means for Your Simulations
24 Cores means this server can perform
24 calculations simultaneously.
Why this matters: CFD simulations divide your fluid domain into millions of
cells. Each core can solve equations for different cells at the same time - more cores =
dramatically faster solutions. A simulation that takes 24 hours on a 4-core laptop could
finish in 3-4 hours with 24 cores.
Perfect for: Medium simulations (2-10 million cells), steady-state
aerodynamics, heat transfer, and parametric studies with faster iteration times.
The 3.9 GHz clock speed determines how fast each
core performs individual calculations - higher means faster processing for mesh generation,
solving, and post-processing.
Industry-standard CPU benchmark • Higher scores = Faster simulations
Memory (RAM)
What This Means
1 TB is
your simulation's "working space" - it holds all active data: mesh geometry,
fluid properties, boundary conditions, and results during solving.
ECC DDR5 provides high-bandwidth data access
essential for CFD solvers that read and update millions of cell values thousands of times
during iterations. This capacity handles
large transient simulations, multi-phase flows, and parametric studies - far exceeding
typical 16-32GB workstations limited to 2-3 million cells. Insufficient RAM forces
simulations to fail.
High-bandwidth memory for lightning-fast data access
Storage
What This Means
This server has
2 storage drives installed.
Each drive is 1.88 TB, giving you a total
storage capacity of 3.75 TB.
NVMe SSD storage provides extremely fast
read/write speeds for your simulation files and results.
NVMe is the fastest storage technology available - up to 5-10x faster than traditional
SSDs for reading/writing large result files.
Multiple drives provide redundancy and can be configured for increased performance or
data protection.
Ultra-fast storage for rapid I/O operations
Network Speed
Fast file transfers and remote access. Upload meshes and download results quickly from anywhere.
Monthly Traffic
Generous bandwidth allowance for uploading/downloading large simulation files without limits or overage fees.

About This Server
SC53 — Modern 24-Core, 1 TB CFD Node with High Memory Bandwidth
The SC53 node combines our most modern Intel platform with maximum memory. A single Intel Xeon Gold 5412U (Sapphire Rapids) brings 24 cores and 48 threads of current-generation compute and high-bandwidth 8-channel DDR5 memory, paired with a full 1 TB of RAM and fast NVMe storage. It is built for very large CFD cases that benefit from modern per-core efficiency and high memory bandwidth — not just raw core count.
For CFD, where solver performance is often limited by memory bandwidth as much as by cores, SC53 pairs that bandwidth advantage with the capacity to load the largest meshes.

SC53 is built on the newest Intel server architecture in our lineup. It combines 24 high-IPC Sapphire Rapids cores with 8-channel DDR5-4400 memory — delivering far higher memory bandwidth (around 282 GB/s) than the DDR4 nodes — plus 1 TB of RAM, PCIe Gen 5, and fast NVMe storage. For memory-bandwidth-sensitive CFD at large scale, that combination is a real advantage.

What this node is built for
SC53 plays to modern per-core speed, high memory bandwidth, and very large memory, backed by fast storage. It suits:
Very large meshes — with 1 TB of RAM, meshes into the hundreds of millions of cells fit comfortably.
Memory-bandwidth-bound cases — many steady and transient Fluent runs are limited by bandwidth, not core count, and this is where SC53 excels.
Large cases that benefit from modern cores — Sapphire Rapids delivers strong per-core performance and AVX-512 acceleration.
I/O-heavy transient runs — fast NVMe storage keeps data writes and autosaves from stalling the solve.
A modern, efficient large-memory machine — for engineers who want current-generation hardware with very large capacity.
With 24 modern cores at up to 3.9 GHz, high-bandwidth DDR5, and 1 TB of RAM, even very large cases both fit and solve efficiently.
Why memory bandwidth matters for CFD
CFD performance is not only about core count. At each iteration, the solver streams large amounts of mesh and field data through the cores — so memory bandwidth often sets the real-world pace. Cores starved for data cannot run at full speed, no matter how many there are.
SC53's 8-channel DDR5-4400 delivers substantially more bandwidth than DDR4 platforms, keeping its 24 modern cores fed and productive. Combined with 1 TB of memory, that means very large, bandwidth-bound cases run efficiently — strong real-world CFD performance at large scale.
Need more cores for highly parallel work? Our 128-core EPYC node (SC44) offers maximum compute at 1 TB.
Need maximum storage at 1 TB? Our 40-core Skylake node (SC42) offers 6 TB of SSD.

Fast NVMe storage
The two 1.88 TB NVMe SSDs (about 3.76 TB total) deliver very high read/write speeds — far faster than SATA — so loading huge case files, writing large data files, and handling frequent autosaves all happen quickly. With PCIe Gen 5, storage keeps pace with the rest of this modern platform.
How parallel solving works on this node
When you run Fluent in parallel, the solver partitions your mesh across all 24 cores (using algorithms such as METIS), each core solving its share of cells and exchanging boundary data each iteration via MPI. On a single modern CPU, that communication runs over fast on-chip and on-board paths, keeping overhead low — and the high-bandwidth DDR5 memory ensures the cores stay fed, so each works at full speed. With 1 TB of memory, even very large cases load comfortably and solve efficiently.
Why rent instead of buy
A modern Sapphire Rapids server with 1 TB of DDR5 and NVMe storage is a significant purchase that depreciates between projects. Renting matches cost to workload:
Buy hardware | Rent SC53 | |
|---|---|---|
Upfront cost | Major capital outlay | Pay only for what you use |
Maintenance | Power, cooling, admin on you | Handled for you |
Setup | You buy, install, and maintain it | Connect by remote desktop, full control, extras included |
Flexibility | Stuck with one machine | Move to a higher-core node when a job needs it |
For a modern, efficient large-memory CFD node with no hardware to own, SC53 puts current-generation performance on demand — with higher-core nodes available when a case needs them.
How it works — you're in full control
SC53 is yours to drive directly. You connect to the node over a secure remote desktop connection and run everything yourself, exactly as you would on a local workstation:
Connect via remote desktop — you get full remote access to the SC53 node.
Set up your simulation — load your geometry and case, configure your solver settings, and run ANSYS Fluent with all 24 cores at your command.
Run and monitor in real time — start, pause, adjust, and watch the solution as it progresses, with complete control throughout.
Keep your results — post-process on the node or download your solution and data files whenever you're ready.
You have full authority over the node for the duration of your rental: we provide the hardware and the support, and you run the simulations your way.
Frequently asked questions
How is SC53 different from SC55? Same modern Sapphire Rapids platform and high memory bandwidth, but SC53 has 1 TB of RAM versus SC55's 768 GB. Choose SC53 when you need maximum memory for very large meshes; SC55 serves smaller large cases for less.
Why choose SC53 over a higher-core 1 TB node? SC53 leads on modern per-core performance and memory bandwidth. Because CFD is often bandwidth-bound, its 24 Sapphire Rapids cores with 8-channel DDR5 deliver strong real-world performance at large scale. For work that genuinely scales to many cores, our 40-core (SC42) or 128-core (SC44) 1 TB nodes are the better fit.
How large a mesh can it handle? With 1 TB of RAM, count on very large meshes — into the hundreds of millions of cells, depending on the physics (allow about 1 GB of RAM per million cells as a guide, more for complex physics). Send us your case for a precise estimate.
Is my data kept confidential? Yes. Your geometry, case files, and results stay private to you, treated as strictly confidential — and because you run everything yourself over remote desktop, your work stays under your control throughout.
