SC59
Unmatched Performance
Built for demanding CFD simulations and computational workloads
Processor
The brain of your simulation power
What This Means for Your Simulations
This server has 2
physical CPUs installed.
Each CPU has 22 cores and
44 threads, giving you a total of
44 cores and
88 threads.
Why this matters: Think of cores as individual workers - with
44 cores, this server can perform
44 calculations at exactly the same time. CFD
simulations divide your fluid domain into millions of cells, and each core can solve
equations for different cells simultaneously, dramatically reducing solution time.
Perfect for: Large-scale industrial simulations with 10+ million cells,
complex transient analyses (time-dependent flows), multi-phase simulations, turbulence
modeling with fine meshes, and running multiple design iterations in parallel. This
dual-CPU configuration delivers enterprise-grade computational power - a simulation that
takes 48 hours on a typical workstation could finish in 4-6 hours here.
The 3.6 GHz clock speed determines how fast each
core processes individual calculations. Higher clock speeds improve both single-threaded
operations (mesh generation, post-processing) and the per-core efficiency during parallel
solving.
Industry-standard CPU benchmark • Higher scores = Faster simulations
Memory (RAM)
What This Means
1 TB is
your simulation's "working space" - it holds all active data: mesh geometry,
fluid properties, boundary conditions, and results during solving.
DDR3 provides high-bandwidth data access
essential for CFD solvers that read and update millions of cell values thousands of times
during iterations. This capacity handles
large transient simulations, multi-phase flows, and parametric studies - far exceeding
typical 16-32GB workstations limited to 2-3 million cells. Insufficient RAM forces
simulations to fail.
High-bandwidth memory for lightning-fast data access
Storage
What This Means
This server has
2 storage drives installed.
Each drive is 1 TB, giving you a total
storage capacity of 2 TB.
SATA SSD storage provides extremely fast
read/write speeds for your simulation files and results.
SSDs are much faster than traditional hard drives - ideal for loading large mesh files
and saving iteration data quickly.
Multiple drives provide redundancy and can be configured for increased performance or
data protection.
Ultra-fast storage for rapid I/O operations
Network Speed
Fast file transfers and remote access. Upload meshes and download results quickly from anywhere.
Monthly Traffic
Generous bandwidth allowance for uploading/downloading large simulation files without limits or overage fees.
Operating System
Pre-installed and ready to use. Compatible with ANSYS, OpenFOAM, and other CFD software.
About This Server
SC59 — 44-Core, 1 TB Dual-Xeon CFD Node for Large, Memory-Hungry ANSYS Fluent Solves
The SC59 node combines high parallelism with maximum memory for ANSYS Fluent, pairing two Intel® Xeon® E5-2699 v4 CPUs — 44 cores and 88 threads in total — with a remarkable 1 TB of RAM. It's built for the demanding combination of a very large mesh and a strong core count: enough memory to hold cases that overwhelm smaller nodes, and enough cores to solve them at pace. When your case is both large and compute-heavy, SC59 is the choice.
It is the high-core, high-memory tier in our range: two enterprise-class Xeon CPUs, the largest memory budget we offer, and the parallelism to drive very large cases hard.
Specifications
Component | Specification |
|---|---|
CPU | 2 × Intel® Xeon® E5-2699 v4 — 22 cores / 44 threads each (44 cores / 88 threads total), 2.2 GHz base, up to 3.6 GHz turbo, 55 MB cache each (Broadwell-EP) |
Memory | 1 TB RAM |
Storage | 2 × 1 TB SATA SSD |
SC59 uses two Xeon E5-2699 v4 CPUs in a dual-socket system: 44 cores total at 2.2 GHz base (3.6 GHz turbo) with 55 MB of cache per CPU — enterprise-class Broadwell-EP silicon. Behind them sits 1 TB of RAM, the largest in our lineup, letting Fluent hold very large meshes and solve them across a strong core count.
What's included with SC59
Every SC59 rental comes with extras to help you get the most from it:

These come standard with the node — practical support alongside the compute.
What this node is built for
SC59 is the high-core, high-memory tier in our range. It suits:
Very large meshes solved at pace — 1 TB holds the case, and 44 cores solve it faster than a lower-core high-memory node.
Complex multiphase and reacting flows — memory-hungry physics that also benefit from strong parallelism.
Large transient runs — where both capacity and solve throughput matter.
Demanding production CFD — when a case is large and compute-heavy at the same time.
With 44 cores at up to 3.6 GHz and 1 TB of RAM, Fluent can hold a very large mesh entirely in memory and partition it across all the cores for a strong parallel speed-up.
Memory and cores: choosing SC59
SC59's strength is both — maximum memory and a high core count. In CFD, memory sets the largest mesh you can run — roughly 1 GB of RAM per million cells for a typical steady, single-phase case — while cores determine how fast it solves. With 1 TB and 44 cores, SC59 is matched to very large cases that also need solving at pace: as a rough guide, hundreds of millions of cells for simpler steady single-phase work, fewer for transient or multiphase physics.
Want 1 TB with newer cores and NVMe but a lower core count? See SC56 (1 TB, modern 24-core Xeon Gold, NVMe).
Need an even higher core count at a lower memory budget? See SC61 (88-core quad Xeon) or SC63 (96-core quad Xeon Platinum, 256 GB).
Want GPU acceleration? Our GPU tiers (GP1, GP2) run Fluent's native GPU solver.
Tell us your cell count and physics, and we'll confirm SC59 is the right fit — it's the strongest match when your case is both large in memory and heavy in compute.
Fast SSD storage
The two 1 TB SATA SSDs deliver responsive read/write for loading large case files, writing solution data, and handling autosaves — keeping a fast solve from being held up by slow disk I/O. With very large cases comes large data; if your work writes especially heavy datasets, let us know and we can advise on the right storage configuration for your job.
How parallel solving works on this node
When you run Fluent in parallel, the solver partitions your mesh across all 44 cores (using algorithms such as METIS), each core solving its share of cells and exchanging boundary data each iteration via MPI. On a single dual-socket node, that communication runs over fast on-board interconnects between the two CPUs rather than a network, keeping parallel overhead far lower than a multi-machine cluster. On SC59, the 1 TB of RAM lets the solver hold a very large mesh entirely in memory while those 44 cores work through it — the combination this node is built for.
Why rent instead of buy
Buy hardware | Rent SC59 | |
|---|---|---|
Upfront cost | Major capital outlay for a 1 TB dual-CPU server | Pay only for what you use |
Maintenance | Power, cooling, admin on you | Handled for you |
Setup | You buy, install, and maintain it | Connect by remote desktop, full control, extras included |
Flexibility | Stuck with one machine | Move to a different tier when a job needs it |
A 1 TB, 44-core server is a major investment to own and maintain — and for many teams, the very large cases that need it are occasional rather than constant. Renting SC59 gives you that capacity and parallelism on demand — plus a free course, a month of Claude AI Premium, and a consultation hour — without the capital cost or the upkeep.
How it works — you're in full control
SC59 is yours to drive directly. You connect to the node over a secure remote desktop connection and run everything yourself, exactly as you would on a local workstation:
Connect via remote desktop — you get full remote access to the SC59 node.
Set up your simulation — load your geometry and case, configure your solver settings, and run ANSYS Fluent with all 44 cores at your command.
Run and monitor in real time — start, pause, adjust, and watch the solution as it progresses, with complete control throughout.
Keep your results — post-process on the node or download your solution and data files whenever you're ready.
You have full authority over the node for the duration of your rental: we provide the hardware and the support, and you run the simulations your way.
Frequently asked questions
What makes SC59 special?
It combines the largest memory in our range (1 TB) with a high 44-core count. That lets Fluent hold a very large mesh in memory and solve it faster than a high-memory node with fewer cores — ideal for cases that are large and compute-heavy at once.
How is SC59 different from SC56?
Both offer 1 TB of RAM. SC56 uses a modern 24-core Xeon Gold with NVMe storage; SC59 uses a 44-core dual Broadwell-EP for greater parallelism on large memory-bound cases. Choose SC59 when you need more cores behind the 1 TB; choose SC56 for newer cores and faster NVMe.
How large a mesh can it handle?
With 1 TB of RAM, plan for very large meshes — into the hundreds of millions of cells for simpler steady single-phase cases, fewer for transient or multiphase physics (about 1 GB of RAM per million cells is a good starting estimate). Send us your case for a precise answer.
Is my data kept confidential?
Yes. Your geometry, case files, and results stay private to you, treated as strictly confidential — and because you run everything yourself over remote desktop, your work stays under your control throughout.
