Description
This project analyzes steady ventilation airflow in a storage-container room with two internal walls using ANSYS Fluent. The 3D geometry is built in DesignModeler. Meshing is done in ANSYS Meshing with a structured grid of 115,635 elements.
Methodology
The room measures 0.5 × 0.5 × 1 m and contains two walls aligned across the flow path, representing baffles in a storage chamber. Air enters at 5 m/s and, due to the geometry, accelerates to a peak of ≈20 m/s after passing the second wall. Turbulence is modeled with the standard k–ε model, and the energy equation is solved to capture temperature distribution.
Results
Post-processing provides 2D contours of pressure, velocity, and streamlines. The inlet velocity of 5 m/s increases to about 20 m/s downstream of the second wall. The normal force on the walls totals 15.8526 N, and the gap between the two walls exhibits strong turbulence, with turbulent kinetic energy reaching ~2 J/kg.
