Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD): Introduction
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
Price: Free
This is the first session of a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) course, focusing on equations and numerical methods for discretization and solving them in detail. The course is designed by the Mister CFD team to help students and engineers understand the numerical techniques used in software like Ansys Fluent, rather than focusing on fundamental coding. It introduces CFD as a method for solving nonlinear partial differential equations (Navier-Stokes equations) through numerical techniques, since general analytical solutions aren’t available. The document covers three main numerical methods: Finite Difference Method (FDM), Finite Volume Method (FVM), and Finite Element Method (FEM), with their advantages and limitations. It explains different types of Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) including their classifications based on order, linearity, and behavior (Elliptic, Parabolic, and Hyperbolic). The content concludes with detailed explanations of conservation equations, numerical errors in CFD, and the importance of Taylor series in discretization processes.

This project analyzes the thermal load of a room/building without Phase Change Materials (PCMs) and then with PCM-integrated walls. The energy storage capacity and liquid fraction of PCM capsules are calculated to assess their impact on thermal regulation. Simulations are conducted in ANSYS Fluent to evaluate heat transfer efficiency and energy savings.
HVAC Engineering: Intermediate CFD Training Package
Intermediate
Price: $69
Build intermediate-level expertise in HVAC engineering CFD with this 10-project ANSYS Fluent training package — covering mechanical air conditioning systems, solar-driven heating and ventilation, passive traditional cooling methods, and specialized industrial ventilation applications.
Price: $29
HVAC Engineering: Beginner CFD Training Package is a ten-project introduction to airflow, ventilation, and thermal comfort simulation in ANSYS Fluent. Starting from a single heated room and progressing through natural, passive, and mechanical ventilation strategies to full building-scale spaces, it gives newcomers a hands-on, application-driven foundation in the CFD techniques behind modern heating, cooling, and ventilation design — one real engineering case at a time.

This study investigates the thermal performance of an HVAC system with Phase Change Materials (PCMs) using ANSYS Fluent. The geometry, representing a U-shape pipe system with PCM-filled pipes, is designed in ANSYS SpaceClaim and meshed using ANSYS Meshing, resulting in 6,204,324 polyhedra elements. The simulation is conducted as a transient analysis over 24 hours. The RNG k-ε turbulence model is employed, and the Solidification and Melting model is activated with a Mushy Zone Parameter of 100,000. The energy equation is enabled to accurately model heat transfer.

This project simulates a Miner Room Ventilation in ANSYS Fluent software. The geometry of the problem is designed in Spaceclaim then Meshed in ANSYS Meshing software with 1,530,586 cells. The turbulence of the air flow is simulated with RNG k-e model. The energy source in cell zone conditions is activated for the fans.
