About This Episode

1. Introduction

The Offset Tool in SpaceClaim is designed for making precise adjustments to your geometry, letting you copy or shift faces, surfaces, or curves by a specific distance. It’s a flexible, accurate way to resize features, increase thickness, or adjust clearances and tolerances, all without having to redraw your model from scratch. Often used for prepping parts for manufacturing or analysis, it gives you control over how much a feature moves relative to its original position.

2. Learning Objectives

In this lesson, you’ll learn the main applications of the Offset Tool by working through practical exercises. You’ll see how to couple two faces, move them together using the Pull command, and even offset entire bodies. These skills allow you to efficiently modify your designs for better fit or manufacturability.

3. Summary

By mastering the Offset Tool and combining it with previously learned Design workspace commands, you’ll greatly improve your modeling capabilities in SpaceClaim. This session helps you build skills for handling more intricate geometries and prepares you to confidently tackle advanced design challenges.
