Rotary Seed Dryer CFD Simulation, Using DPM and Moving Mesh, by ANSYS FLUENT
Intermediate, Advanced
Price: $220
This work presents a CFD–DEM simulation of a rotary seed dryer. Hot air flows through the inclined drum at 350 K while the drum rotates at 20 RPM. Seeds are modeled with the Discrete Phase Model (DPM) coupled with evaporation into H₂O vapor. The Discrete Element Method (DEM) accounts for particle–particle and particle–wall collisions, improving realism of seed motion. Contours of H₂O mass fraction reveal zones of strong evaporation, reaching values up to 0.0026. The combined CFD–DPM–DEM approach shows how airflow, fin mixing, and collisions enhance drying efficiency.
DEM Modeling of Four-Way Coupled Particle Flow in an Industrial Pipe CFD Simulation by ANSYS Fluent
Advanced
Price: $150
The problem numerically simulates particle-laden airflow in a long pipe with a bend using ANSYS Fluent software. We perform this simulation in steady state for the fluid phase with unsteady (transient) particle tracking. We model the problem using a four-way coupled DEM–CFD DPM approach to capture particle–particle and particle–fluid interactions. The DEM collision model, Saffman lift force, and two-way turbulence coupling are included as per project requirements. The geometry is created in ANSYS Design Modeler and meshed in ANSYS Meshing with an unstructured grid of about 382,000 elements.
Twin Screw Extruder CFD Simulation, Using DEM and Dynamic Mesh
Intermediate, Advanced
Price: $108
In this project, a twin screw extruder is simulated using ANSYS Fluent to analyze the interaction of water and particles within the system. The flow rate of particles is nine times that of the continuous phase, and both the interactions within the particle phase and with the continuous phase are considered using a 4-way DEM module. The geometry is designed in ANSYS SpaceClaim, and an unstructured mesh is generated in ANSYS Meshing with dynamic adjustments at each time step. The k-epsilon turbulence model and DPM model are employed along with the DEM module to simulate interactions. This complex simulation, involving dynamic meshing and high computational demands, reveals insights into particle tracking and residence time as the extruder operates at 300 rpm with a 60-degree rotation scope.

The current CFD Analysis numerically validates the Paper "Axial segregation of a binary mixture in a rotating tumbler with non-spherical particles: Experiments and DEM model validation" via ANSYS Fluent software. We have designed and meshed the geometry using SpaceClaim and ANSYS Meshing producing 31,428 elements. Mesh Motion is used to simulate rotation of the tumbler.
DDPM, Proppant Transport among Multicluster Hydraulic Fractures, Paper Numerical Validation
Advanced
Price: $320
The current CFD Analysis Validates the Paper ‘Field-Scale Numerical Investigation of Proppant Transport among Multicluster Hydraulic Fractures’ via ANSYS Fluent software. We have designed the geometry using ANSYS Design Modeler software and generated the mesh on this geometry using ANSYS Meshing software. The mesh type is structured. The Eulerian multiphase model is used to simulate the proppant. The Dense Discrete phase model (DDPM) is used in the simulation. The Saffman lift force, virtual mass force, and two-way turbulence coupling models are taken into account.

Smoking Room, ANSYS Fluent CFD Simulation Tutorial
Intermediate
Price: $36
The present problem simulates the cigarette smoke inside a smoking room, existing an exhaust fan on the upper wall of the room by ANSYS Fluent software. The geometry of the present model is three-dimensional and has been designed using Design Modeler software. The meshing of the model has been done using Fluent Meshing software. The mesh type is Polyhedra, and the element number is 965,187. The present simulation aims to investigate the movement of smoke in the room, its pathlines, contours, and vectors. Using the both Species transport and Discrete Phase Model (DPM) models.
