Particle Transport in Bent Pipe by ANSYS CFX

Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

Price: $100

In this project, copper Particle Transport in Bent Pipe is investigated using ANSYS CFX software. The geometry is designed in a 3D model with the SpaceClaim software. We performed the mesh of the model with ANSYS Meshing software, and the element number equals 139,461. Particle Transport Fluid Morphology is used to model the motion of copper particles.

The Design Modeler software is used to create the geometry. A structure grid is generated via ANSYS Meshing software. The discrete Phase Model (DPM) is used to model sand particles and erosion/accretion.

The problem numerically simulates the pressure drop in a tube with a U-shaped bend using ANSYS Fluent software. We design the 2-D model by the Design Modeler software and then mesh it with ANSYS Meshing software. The mesh type is Structured, and the element number equals 26400. We aim to Minimize the pressure drop in a three-step simulation. We use the Adjoint Solver to analyze the Shape Sensitivity. The Design Optimization is performed with the Gradient-based Optimizer. We use the Radial Basis Function (RBF) to apply Mesh Morphing.

The present CFD Project simulates Compressible Flow in a Bent Pipe via ANSYS Fluent software. We modeled the geometry using ANSYS Design Modeler software and created the mesh using ANSYS Meshing software. The number of cells after refinement is 1,450,983. The solution has been solved Transiently. The solver is Density-Based to capture the compressibility of the flow.

This project involves the simulation of air and biomass combustion in a Circulating Fluidized Bed (CBF) using CFD techniques. The primary objectives are to examine the combustion characteristics of Probability Density Function (PDF) for biomass combustion simulation. The CFB is defined with specific boundary conditions, and simulations are performed using a steady-state for fluid flow, unsteady for DPM, and incompressible flow model. The turbulent flow within the CFB is modeled using the realizable k-e turbulent model and thermal radiation is simulated with the P1 model. The simulation incorporates the single rate model for devolatilization of biomass and the intrinsic model for particle combustion.
